Chapter Seven

Cal loved waking up in bed with Tabby every morning, but he loved being able to hold her in his arms throughout the night more. He and his brothers took turns sleeping beside her and snuggling up next to her each night. And Tabby seemed to like being surrounded by them, too. Whenever one of them shifted in bed, she always shifted with them and made sure she pressed up tight against them. She’d even started reaching out with her foot to whichever one of them was lying across the bottom of the mattress. Their Tabby cat was a very tactile woman, and Cal didn’t even think she knew how often she touched them.

None of them had made another move on her since that day in the barn. It wasn’t because they didn’t want to, but because he and his brothers were giving her time to get used to them. But from the sultry looks and the soft touches they gave her and she accepted, Cal thought that just maybe it was time for the next step in their relationship.

He’d watched her interacting with the other women and saw how well she got along with them. She fit in with everyone like she had known them for years and their meeting had been fated.

Cal had never believed in fate or kismet or whatever one wanted to call it, but the more he fell for Tabitha Carey, the more he believed that just maybe some things were destined to be.

He glanced up when Tabby walked into the living room after helping the other women clean up the kitchen after supper and patted the cushion on the sofa next to him. There wasn’t much room between him and Fletch, but she was such a tiny little thing he knew she would fit perfectly. Fletch gave him a wink when Tabby sat down squeezing her pert little bottom and slim yet curvaceous hips between them. The sides of her ass and hips bumped against their thighs and hips, and then gravity pulled her body in tight between them.

Law had disappeared for a moment, but when he came back into the living room, his gaze zeroed in on Tabby. He stalked over to the sofa, sat down in front of her, and leaned his back against her shins. Cal expected Tabby to tell Law to move, but she didn’t. She spread her knees apart and shivered when Law scooted back between her legs and hung his arms over the top of her knees. When his brother looked back over his shoulder at her, Tabby gave him a smile and a saucy wink.

Yeah, it is definitely time to become more intimate with our woman. She’s more than ready for the next step.

Just as that thought crossed his mind, one of the house alarms blared out a high-pitched screech, making his eardrums reverberate.

Then the shit hit the fan!

Rapid gunfire hit the house from what seemed every side. Cal took Tabby to the floor in front of the couch and covered her with his body.
